Oracle Database Administrator
About The Position
Accenture Federal Services is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to manage, maintain, secure, and optimize Oracle database environments supporting mission-critical applications. The role supports development, test, staging, and production environments and focuses on database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, high availability, and troubleshooting. The DBA will work with application and development teams, support deployments, maintain technical documentation and operational standards, and participate in change management, system upgrades, and Agile project initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of Oracle Database Administration experience.
- Strong experience administering Oracle databases in enterprise environments.
- Proven expertise in database performance tuning and optimization.
- Experience with Oracle RMAN, Data Pump, backup and recovery strategies, and database security.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- US citizenship.
- Secret clearance.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and high-availability architectures.
- Experience supporting large-scale production environments.
- Knowledge of Linux/UNIX administration and shell scripting.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle databases across multiple environments.
- Monitor database performance, availability, security, storage, and backup and recovery processes.
- Implement and support backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents, outages, and performance issues.
- Collaborate with application and development teams to support deployments and optimize database operations.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and standards.
- Participate in change management activities, system upgrades, and Agile project initiatives.
- Analyze database performance to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
- Tune SQL and PL/SQL using Oracle performance tools, including AWR, ASH, Statspack, and execution plans.
- Optimize queries, indexes, partitions, and database schemas.
- Monitor and improve CPU, memory, I/O, and network utilization.
- Establish performance baselines and implement proactive monitoring and alerting.
