About The Position

SHR Consulting Group is seeking experienced Oracle Database Administrators (multiple openings) to operate and maintain dedicated Oracle Database environments supporting Mission Applications for the DISA Joint Service Provider (JSP). Supported platforms include Oracle Linux Oracle Database Appliance (ODA), physical servers and AIX/HP-UX physical servers across NIPR and SIPR environments. This posting covers Subject Matter Expert (Intermediate), Senior Database Management Specialist, and Database Administrator openings on the Oracle team. Requirements

  • Five (5) or more years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA in a large enterprise environment, including Oracle 12c/19c administration, RAC, and Data Guard (7+ years for the Senior and SME variants).
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Linux, Oracle Database Appliance (ODA), AIX, and/or HP-UX platforms.
  • Strong PL/SQL, RMAN, performance tuning (AWR/ADDM), and database recovery experience.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and shell/PowerShell scripting for routine administrative automation.
  • Experience implementing DoD STIGs/SRGs against Oracle DBMS and operating system platforms.
  • Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF), IAVM remediation, and cybersecurity POA&M management for database environments.
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active Secret Clearance (or higher)
  • Must comply with all DoD, DISA, and JSP security and access protocols, including the ability to access NIPRNet and SIPRNet environments.
  • Must meet DoD 8570.01-M / DoD 8140 IAT Level II baseline certification requirements prior to start (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, or equivalent).
  • Computing Environment certification appropriate to the role is also required.

Nice To Haves

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain dedicated Oracle Database servers/instances at primary and alternate site locations for Mission Applications listed in the JSP Environmental Document.
  • Provide full database administration O&M for Oracle Mission Application databases on Oracle Linux ODA, AIX, and HP-UX platforms.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle database services and software, including upgrades, patches, and third-party tools and dependencies (clients, drivers).
  • Allocate and manage database storage, including ASM disk groups; perform database, instance, RAC node, and cluster configuration tuning and modifications.
  • Create and manage database environment accounts, profiles, roles, and permissions in accordance with DoD cybersecurity requirements; manage application accounts for customer application administrators with direct DB access.
  • Configure, schedule, monitor, and restore Oracle backups using RMAN; test and validate backup procedures at least annually.
  • Configure, manage, and monitor Oracle Data Guard and other replication, synchronization, and failover capabilities for Mission Essential Systems (MES) database environments.
  • Provide PL/SQL development, debugging, and performance tuning; assist with entity relationship and data flow diagrams, database normalization, and architecture diagrams.
  • Operate and maintain Oracle databases in accordance with DISA STIGs/SRGs; patch and remediate IAVA findings; validate and document cybersecurity compliance for application RMF accreditation at least annually; manage assigned cybersecurity POA&Ms.
  • Provide after-hours support for scheduled Authorized Service Interruptions (ASIs), break/fix incidents, and incidents impacting Mission Application databases.
  • Manage assigned incidents and service requests with detailed status/tasks/actions in the JSP ITSM tool.
