About The Position

NRI is seeking an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Engineer to join their Managed Services team. This role is crucial for operating and supporting client OCI environments, ensuring their stability, security, and availability. The engineer will be responsible for day-to-day platform operations, identity and access management, networking, compute and storage operations, observability, incident management, change and release execution, and security operations support. Requirements

  • 5 years’ experience in cloud/infrastructure operations with hands-on OCI administration.
  • Solid knowledge of OCI IAM concepts and policy management.
  • Solid knowledge of cloud networking fundamentals (routing, security controls, private connectivity).
  • Solid knowledge of monitoring/logging and operational troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of Linux and basic scripting (e.g., Bash/Python) for operational tasks.
  • Familiarity with ITIL-aligned processes (incident/change/problem).
  • Methodical incident handling; clear communication under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and discipline with change control.
  • Customer-service mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • OCI certifications (Foundations or Operations/Architect associate level).
  • Exposure to Terraform/IaC (operational use: applying vetted modules, minor updates).
  • Experience supporting OKE/Kubernetes or load balancers in an operations capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day platform operations: Monitor OCI services and respond to alerts; perform initial triage and resolution. Execute standard operating procedures and maintain runbooks/knowledge articles. Manage capacity, housekeeping, and routine platform health checks.
  • Identity & access management: Administer users, groups, policies, dynamic groups, and access reviews (least privilege). Support SSO/federation operations and access requests in line with governance.
  • Networking operations: Operate VCNs, subnets, route tables, gateways (IGW/NAT/SGW), NSGs/security lists, DRGs. Support connectivity operations (VPN/FastConnect) and DNS/load balancer operational tasks.
  • Compute & storage operations: Provision and support compute instances/instance pools; manage patching and standard builds. Operate storage services (block/object/file), backups, restores, and retention policies.
  • Observability & incident management: Configure/maintain logging, monitoring, alarms, and notifications. Participate in on-call/rostered support (if applicable), manage incidents to SLA, and complete post-incident actions.
  • Change & release execution: Implement approved changes (patching, configuration updates, lifecycle/decommissioning) following change control. Coordinate maintenance windows and service communications.
  • Security operations support: Support remediation activities (e.g., hardening, key/secret rotation tasks as directed). Assist with audit evidence collection and compliance checks.
