About The Position

This is a contract assignment for an OR Technician (Surgical Technologist) in Sugar Land, TX. The role involves preparing operating rooms, functioning as a scrub assistant during surgical procedures, maintaining sterile technique, and supporting perioperative patient care. The position is for a Day Shift, Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM, with 42.5 hours per week.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Current CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) through NBSTSA or TS-C (Tech in Surgery – Certified) through NCCT.
• Strong knowledge of sterile processing, surgical instrumentation, and perioperative procedures.
• Recent experience in: General Surgery, Gynecology (GYN), ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat), Orthopedics, Urology, Vascular Surgery, Robotics, Mako Robotics.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred experience in Neuro Spine and Pediatric Surgery.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms with necessary surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Function as a scrub assistant during surgical and invasive procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection control standards.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and efficiently pass instruments and supplies during procedures.
• Assist with patient positioning, preparation, and transport as needed.
• Perform instrument counts and ensure surgical supplies are accounted for.
• Support perioperative patient care and contribute to positive surgical outcomes.
• Act as a resource and role model for other staff members when appropriate.
• Follow all facility policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
