About The Position
The OR Technical Assistant supports the surgical team by preparing operating rooms, maintaining equipment and supplies, and assisting with patient care activities before, during, and after surgical procedures. The role helps promote an efficient and safe perioperative environment by facilitating transitions between procedures, following infection control standards, and performing support functions under the direction of clinical staff. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Less than one year of relevant work experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by ensuring necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and working properly.
- Clean and restock operating rooms between procedures according to established protocols.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room and other perioperative areas as directed.
- Gather and deliver equipment and supplies to the surgical team during procedures.
- Monitor inventory, restock supplies, and organize surgical support areas.
- Follow infection prevention, safety, and environmental protocols to maintain a clean and safe surgical environment.
- Communicate with surgical, nursing, and support staff to support smooth procedural operations.
