About The Position

OR X-ray Technologist is responsible for performing high quality radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures as well perform radiographic exams in the Operating Room environment as well in the general x-ray department, under the supervision of a qualified physician for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases. The technologist provides direct patient care to all ages of patients. The technologist provides very good customer service; that is to treat every patient with respect, courtesy, and explain the exam to the patient. The technologist must be able to work together with others providing a positive work environment.

Requirements

  • Vocational / Technical Degree in Radiologic Technology (Required)
  • 0 - 1 year as a x-ray technologist in a hospital environment with some experience in a operating room environment (Required)
  • Certified Radiography (R)(ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities

  • Performs high quality radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
  • Performs radiographic exams in the Operating Room environment and general x-ray department.
  • Provides direct patient care to all ages of patients.
  • Provides very good customer service, treating every patient with respect and courtesy.
  • Explains the exam to the patient.
  • Works together with others providing a positive work environment.
  • Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.
  • Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization.
  • Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs).
  • Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
  • Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
  • For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age-specific customer service skills.
  • Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
  • Has a working knowledge of how procedures are performed in an operating room environment, maintaining a sterile field.
