As an Operating Room (OR) Service Assistant, you will support caregivers by transporting patients and preparing the OR for procedures. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED

Nice To Haves

  • Sterile Processing Certification
  • Two years of experience in sterile processing
  • Prior experience working in an OR setting or with direct patient care experience

Responsibilities

  • Maintain surgical instrument sets and equipment and ensure proper sterile conditions.
  • Provide limited assistance to surgeons (e.g., holding limb/retractors, suctioning, sponging wounds).
  • Clean used instruments after surgery (e.g., assembly and maintenance of some instruments for proper cleaning and sterilization).
  • Ensure proper sterile conditions, order supplies and stocks and maintain storage areas in the Operating Room for service.
  • Assist in transporting patients.
  • Assist RN in maintaining a safe environment for the patient.
