The Clinical Coordinator provides care for patients within the OR Department under the general supervision of the Clinical Director/Manager of the Perioperative Unit. This position holds clinical responsibility for the specialty by offering teaching, clinical supervision, and evaluation of other personnel assigned to the area. The role also encompasses duties outlined in the staff registered nurse job description, including professional nursing care and related assistance to patients, and providing direction to licensed vocational nurses and non-professional nursing personnel in direct patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Two years recent clinical experience, preferably on the unit, which the Registered Nurse takes Clinical Coordinator responsibilities
  • Current licensure in Texas as Registered Nurse
  • Certified through the American Heart Association BLS
  • ACLS, PALS or ENPC required within 6 months of hire
  • Registered Nurse certification in at least one specialty required (Example: CNOR, SGNA, or ASPAN)
  • Valid Drivers’ license and reliable transportation necessary as travel between campuses may be required

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated proficiency in at least 5 surgical specialties or PACU or Endoscopy preferred
  • Prior Clinical Coordinator experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide care of patients within the OR Department
