Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Certified as a Surgical Technologist
(OR) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Idaho with one year of surgical Technologist experience.
Excellent verbal, written, and reading skills in English
Must understand sterile technique and adhere to patient safety
Must work effectively with a team
Be within 30 minutes of hospital when on-call rotation
Regular and predictable attendance is required
Regularly required to stand for long periods of time; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or twist
Frequently required to perform moderate to complex manipulative tasks
Frequently able to move, push, pull, lift, or carry up to 50 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision
Must comply with HIPAA and patient privacy
Must wear PPE when situations require
Must submit to COVID-19 testing as required by CMS and other regulatory agencies according to FCMC policy

Responsibilities

Performs delegated scrub duties for the surgical team including table set up, instrumentation, first assisting, and counting of instruments prior to and after an operation.
Handling of instruments, sponges, sutures, drains, dressings, specimens, and records.
Ensure asepsis and safety.
Assist the Operating Room Registered Nurse in providing patient care pre-operatively, intra-operatively, and immediately post-operatively
