The work of building families offers purpose, challenge, and personal reward. This specific role is for an OR/PACU RN Per Diem at Fertility Centers of Illinois in River North, Illinois. The schedule is per diem, with varying hours based on need from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, including a weekend rotation of 3 to 4 shifts per month. Requirements

Active RN license
Current BLS and ACLS certification
2 to 3 years of clinical experience in Operating/Procedure Room or PACU experience strongly preferred
Strong technical and clinical assessment skills
Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment
Ability to communicate accurately and concisely

Responsibilities

Utilize advanced assessment skills to identify patient care problems and formulate patient care plans.
Perform initial preoperative assessment, develop a plan of care, and explain subsequent phases of surgery.
Provide comfort measures and psychological support to patients and their families.
Demonstrate proficiency in caring for patients who have received various types of anesthesia or conscious sedation.
Administer medications by direct intravenous and other routes as directed.
Provide patient education.
