OR Nurse (RN)
About The Position
As an OR nurse, you will provide the nursing care our patients receive before, during and after surgery. Our patients will count on you to communicate and advocate on behalf of their physical and emotional well-being to their family, other staff and physicians. Our patients are diverse in their needs and you will see patients of all ages from neonatal to geriatric populations. The surgical suite has 3 rooms with specialties in General, Orthopedics, ENT, Urology, Cataract and Podiatry. This is a full-time position, typically 30-32 hours per week, with hours varying based on department needs. Call duties include one day during the week, every third weekend, and rotating holidays.
Requirements
- Current Iowa Registered Nurse License
- Current ACLS and PALS certification or eligible to obtain

- OR experience preferred
- Epic experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist physician with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient, emergency medical and trauma patient care.
- Direct or perform the functions and activities in the ambulatory surgery area, operating room, and recovery room following evidence-based policies, procedures and standards.
- Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
