About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Trophy Club is seeking a Full Time OR Certified Surgical Tech. This role involves scrubbing for surgical procedures under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing, preparing and maintaining necessary supplies, instruments, and equipment. The Surgical Technologist will function as a member of the surgical team, supporting the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center, and participating in quality improvement activities. The position requires experience supporting various specialties including Orthopedics, ENT, General, GI, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Pain, Plastic, Podiatry, and Urology.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Prior verifiable experience as a scrub technician on the OR setting prior to 2009 OR Certification in OR Technology as a (C-SA or C-ST).
• Current BLS certification
• Completion of an appropriate surgical technician program or previous surgical technician experience of at least two years
• Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient.
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed.
• Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians

Responsibilities

• Scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team.
• Prepares and maintains supplies, instruments and equipment related to surgical procedures.
• Supports the philosophy, objectives and goals of the Surgery Center.
• Supports and participates in quality improvement activities.
• Experienced in supporting in the following specialties: Orthopedics, ENT, General, GI, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Pain, Plastic, Podiatry, Urology.
