About The Position
Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for an Optometry Technician at Reid Medical Clinic on Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas. The technician will support vision care and military medical readiness as part of a collaborative clinical team dedicated to maintaining service members’ vision health. The role includes conducting vision screenings, assisting optometrists, preparing patients, maintaining equipment, and documenting results.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, including hands-on training.
- Ability to perform clinical vision screenings and maintain accurate records.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Paraoptometric (CPO), Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA), or equivalent certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform visual acuity and preliminary vision testing.
- Assist optometrists with examinations and procedures.
- Prepare patients and maintain optometry equipment.
- Document results and support military vision readiness screenings.
