The Optometry Assistant aids the optometrist in both clinical and administrative duties. This role involves processing patient information, maintaining records, managing patient flow, conducting inventory, disinfecting equipment, performing pre-testing and special testing, maintaining contact lens inventory, assisting in care coordination, and addressing patient needs proactively. The assistant will also focus on effective communication with patients, especially vulnerable populations, and participate as part of a medical home care team, ensuring compliance with HIPAA.
