About The Position

Visual Eyes Group is currently hiring a full time Optometrist to join its established, multi location practice, supporting communities across Maryland. With six locations in Clinton, Hyattsville, Frederick, Mitchellville, Greenbelt, and Silver Spring, the practice offers significant geographic advantages for providers considering relocation while serving diverse communities throughout the greater Washington, D.C. metro area. Visual Eyes Group is dedicated to ensuring access to first‑class eye care for patients of all ages across six Maryland locations. The practice delivers full‑scope optometric services with a strong emphasis on both primary eye care and medical optometry, including comprehensive eye exams, contact lens services (including specialty lenses), and the diagnosis and management of ocular diseases such as glaucoma, dry eye syndrome, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye conditions. Visual Eyes Group prioritizes preventive care and early detection through the use of advanced diagnostic technology, supported by modern equipment such as OCT, retinal imaging, digital refraction systems, and fully integrated EHRs. Requirements

  • Licensed Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) with a degree from an accredited optometry school.
  • Eligibility to practice in the state of Maryland.
  • Strong clinical skills in performing comprehensive eye exams, diagnosing and managing ocular disease, prescribing corrective lenses, and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Confidence managing both routine vision care and medical optometry cases.
  • Experience in contact lens evaluations and fittings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professionalism, attention to detail, and adaptability.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and modern optometric equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive eye and vision care to patients of all ages, delivering both routine vision services and medical optometry.
  • Perform thorough eye examinations, diagnose refractive errors, and prescribe glasses and contact lenses.
  • Diagnose, manage, and treat ocular conditions such as glaucoma, dry eye syndrome, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease.
  • Use advanced diagnostic technology to support accurate assessments and high‑quality care.
  • Educate patients on eye health, treatment options, and preventative care.
  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Work closely with opticians, technicians, and administrative staff to contribute to an efficient workflow and positive patient experiences.
  • Stay current with clinical advancements through continuing education.
  • Adhere to all ethical, clinical, and regulatory standards.
