About The Position
The Optometrist will provide professional optometry services to the inmate population at the Federal Correctional Complex Hazelton in Bruceton Mills, West Virginia. The position is a contractor position with W-2 employment through Fidelity Partners.
Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
- Current and unrestricted professional optometry license.
- Ability to perform comprehensive optometric examinations.
- Ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation.
- Ability to satisfy applicable Federal background, credentialing, and facility-access requirements.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive optometric examinations.
- Evaluate visual acuity and ocular health.
- Diagnose and manage common visual and ocular conditions within the authorized scope of practice.
- Prescribe corrective lenses when clinically indicated.
- Review relevant medical history and clinical documentation.
- Maintain accurate patient records.
- Coordinate patient care with BOP healthcare personnel.
- Follow institutional clinical, security, and documentation procedures.
- Protect confidential health information.
- Comply with applicable Federal Bureau of Prisons policies and facility requirements.
