Requirements

  • Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited optometry program
  • Current Iowa optometry license or eligibility to obtain Iowa licensure
  • Good standing with applicable licensing and regulatory bodies
  • Ability to provide comprehensive eye examinations and routine contact lens care
  • Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach to care
  • Ability to collaborate with an experienced optical and support team
  • Appropriate professional liability coverage
  • Ability to complete required credentialing and enrollment with applicable insurance plans, if participating in insurance-based care

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or interest in dry eye treatment, specialty contact lenses, myopia management, or other areas that could expand the services offered by the practice
  • Candidates interested in developing a specialty area within the practice

Responsibilities

  • Performing comprehensive eye examinations and vision evaluations
  • Diagnosing and managing common ocular conditions
  • Providing spectacle prescriptions and individualized vision recommendations
  • Performing contact lens examinations, fittings, evaluations, and follow-up care
  • Educating patients about eye health, treatment options, lens choices, and preventive care
  • Using modern diagnostic technology
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation
  • Collaborating with experienced optical and support staff
