About The Position

Appleton Eye Associates is seeking an Optometrist to join its well-established, community-focused team serving patients across Newburyport and several North Shore communities in Massachusetts. Appleton Eye Associates is a long-established, community-focused practice with roots dating back to 1972 and a strong reputation for providing trusted, comprehensive eye care across Massachusetts. Based in Newburyport with additional locations in North Reading, Hamilton, Ipswich, Gloucester, and Amesbury, the practice has grown from two locations to six while continuing to invest in advanced technology and expanded services, including comprehensive health and eye exams, specialty contact lenses, IPL therapy, and dry eye management. With a mission to positively impact the quality of vision for patients in the community, Appleton Eye Associates offers the opportunity to join a collaborative team of experienced and newer ODs who bring diverse specialties and perspectives to patient care. Requirements

  • Licensed Optometrist in good standing with TPA certification.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a busy, patient-centered environment.
  • Confident caring for patients of all ages and visual needs, including conditions within the full scope of your license.
  • Value collaborative co-management with local MDs when appropriate.
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional eye care.
  • Staying current with advancements in optometry.
  • Contributing to a positive team culture.
  • Optometry license in Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive eye care for a diverse patient base, including routine exams, contact lens fittings, diabetic eye exams, glaucoma management, dry eye therapy, and specialty care.
  • Use advanced technology, including Optos and Essilor retinal imaging, state-of-the-art visual field testing, OCT-A, and IPL therapy, to deliver precise diagnoses and personalized treatment plans.
  • Care for approximately 10 to 16 patients per day.
  • Collaborate with opticians, technicians, and administrative team members to create a seamless, compassionate patient experience.
