About The Position

Community Health Net is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) seeking a full-time Optometrist to join their dedicated eye care team. The role involves providing comprehensive eye care to a diverse patient population, with a strong focus on medical optometry and managing chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension. The clinic is equipped with advanced technology, including the Clarus500 Ultra-Widefield Retina Camera, CIRRUS OCT, and an auto-phoropter system. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the community and may qualify for federal and state loan repayment programs.

Requirements

Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree.
Licensed in the state of Pennsylvania (or eligible for licensure).
Passion for medical optometry and serving diverse patient populations.
Motivated to contribute to practice growth and community engagement.
Eligible for federal/state loan repayment programs through FQHC designation.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, treat, and monitor ocular conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy.
Perform comprehensive eye exams with a strong emphasis on patient education.
Utilize advanced office technology to deliver care at the full scope of your training.
Refer patients to ophthalmologists when necessary and coordinate follow-up care.
Manage or triage urgent cases during office hours and as needed after hours.
Participate in staff meetings to set goals and review performance.
Support community outreach initiatives and contribute creative ideas for patient engagement and practice growth.
