About The Position

HealthDrive is currently seeking an Optometrist to work Part Time (3 days per week) covering work sites in/around Lima, Ohio. This position offers the opportunity to earn $600+ per day via an uncapped production-based pay structure. A benefits package is available for full-time employees (4+ days per week), with most benefits starting on day one. Mileage reimbursement, flexible scheduling with no evening or weekend hours required, and clinical autonomy are also provided. The role includes an established patient base with no patient quotas, 100% malpractice coverage, and a full administrative support team. Dedicated Regulatory Affairs and Compliance teams, along with all necessary equipment and supplies (including a laptop with a proprietary EMR system), are provided. Experienced leaders are in place to drive and support clinical and corporate success. HealthDrive delivers on-site optometry, dentistry, podiatry, audiology, and behavioral health services to residents in long-term care, skilled nursing, and assisted living facilities. Each specialty offered by HealthDrive directly impacts the quality of daily life for the deserving residents served. Requirements

  • Optometry background with proficiency in the assessment, treatment, management and evaluation of eye conditions and disorders.
  • Ability to work independently on a daily basis.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to use EMR, text, email, the internet and to learn other healthcare related software.
  • Self-starter attitude with the desire to deliver quality, thoughtful and attentive care.
  • Ability to stand, to bend, and to lift.
  • Ability to transport optometry equipment (maximum of 15 lbs.).
  • May be occasionally required to transport patients in wheelchairs.
  • O.D. Current State professional license.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Daily travel is based on the patient care requirements for the specified service area; your Practice.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to drive significant distances on occasion is required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive exams, diagnose, treat and manage age-related ocular diseases, injuries and disorders of the eye.
  • Perform traditional daily patient care, including vision testing and prescribing spectacle lenses.
  • Complete required patient and clinical documentation in our optometry electronic medical record system.
  • Apply proper coding guidelines and populate appropriate billing codes for services provided to patients.
  • Adhere to OSHA guidelines regarding patient care, disposal of materials, and sterilization of equipment.
