About The Position
The MedServ Group is seeking a part-time Optometrist to provide care to residents in Skilled Nursing Facilities. The role involves visiting patients once monthly and delivering preventative eye care to an elderly population. A typical visit includes 7–8 hours of patient visits and paperwork, with approximately 22–25 patients per visit. The schedule is generally Monday through Friday, typically 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, with flexible scheduling also available. Compensation is $40–$45 per patient or 35%–40% of collections, stated as approximately $1,050–$1,250 per visit.
Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree and an active state license.
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of patient personalities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A strong sense of workplace professionalism and personal ethics.
- Customer-service orientation with excellent interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive eye exams.
- Diagnose ocular disease and assist in its treatment.
- Prescribe corrective lenses or eye medications as needed.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care to surgical patients.
