Provides direct primary optometric healthcare services and participates as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Responsible for providing quality management of patients, presenting to the outpatient clinics with conditions of the eye. Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Optometry from an approved College of Optometry
  • Licensed Optometrist for the practice of optometry in the State of Texas, licensed through the Texas Optometry Board
  • Able to demonstrate effective optometry skills and techniques
  • Able to determine objectives, set priorities, and establish and meet target dates
  • Able to work effectively with other healthcare professionals and serve as a resource
  • Able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing a broad spectrum of medical optometry conditions, including complex corneal disease, glaucoma, retinal disorders such as diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, and ocular manifestations of systemic disease.
  • Experience in an integrated, collaborative care environment with nurse practitioners, physician assistants, ophthalmology, endocrinology, emergency medicine, oncology, and other specialties.
