About The Position

They serve individuals of all ages and are a Federally Qualified Health Center and the largest provider to homeless families in New York City.

Requirements

• Prior experience as an Optometric Technician preferred.
• Strong attention to detail required.
• Must be able to multitask.
• Must have experience with EMR software.
• Possess a pleasant demeanor and positive attitude when interacting with patients and staff.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak Spanish or other languages preferable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Optometrist with patient care and eye examinations.
• Screen patients and take medical history.
• Administer eyedrops as directed by the Optometrist.
• Provide patient education.
• Assist with scheduling.
• Clean, sanitize, and properly maintain equipment and exam rooms.
• Perform duties in The Floating Hospital clinic and at shelters.
• Scan, Triage, PMH/Vital, Orders, Immunizations/PPD, Telephone Encounters using EMR software.
