Optomechanical Engineer
About The Position
We are looking for an Optomechanical Engineer to design and build the literal backbone of our quantum processors, translating lab prototypes into manufacturable hardware that can grow to first-of-a-kind, full-scale quantum datacenters. You will design and prototype custom precision optomechanics, modular optical breadboards, and the large-scale mechanical infrastructure that integrates every component of the processor. You will work with quantum computing researchers and optical engineers to identify components with their design criteria and timelines, then complete the design, prototyping, construction, and validation.
Requirements
- Familiarity with CAD
- Familiarity with FEA
- Familiarity with 2D mechanical drawings and tolerancing
- Familiarity with DFM
- Basic familiarity with optics
- Experience with hands-on construction and alignment
Nice To Haves
- No knowledge of quantum physics is required, though we’re happy to teach you.
