About The Position

The Optimization Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing flight schedules based on client needs, operational efficiencies, and revenue generation. This role requires strong logistical skills, quick decision-making, and the ability to work under high-pressure situations to ensure seamless flight operations. This is a full-time position based in our Orlando, FL or Grand Rapids, Michigan location.

Requirements

  • Preferred Background in aviation or logistics.
  • Experience in customer service, particularly in client-facing roles.
  • Strong ability to communicate with clients and internal teams.
  • Leadership and decision-making skills—must be confident in handling dynamic, fast-paced scenarios.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, participating in daily huddles and collaborating across departments.
  • Highly adaptable to flexible scheduling, including weekends and irregular shifts.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills to optimize flight scheduling and cost efficiency.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License upon hire
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer
  • Ability to use standard office equipment including computers, phones, and printers
  • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, or reach while organizing records or assisting with audits
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20–25 pounds (files, manuals, office supplies)
  • Ability to move between office areas, training rooms, and aircraft hangars as needed
  • Ability to read and interpret printed and digital documentation
  • Ability to communicate clearly in person, via phone, and electronically

Responsibilities

  • Strategically stack the flight schedule to align with client needs while maximizing company revenue.
  • Identify and fill schedule gaps by coordinating wholesale charter opportunities with brokers and other operators to maximize tail utilization.
  • Continuously adjust flight plans to reduce repositioning costs and increase aircraft efficiency.
  • Assign and manage crew schedules, ensuring compliance with duty restrictions and operational requirements.
  • Oversee crew travel booking, scheduling, and PTO management to maintain seamless operations.
  • Utilize CRM and asset tracking tools to assess available aircraft, determine repositioning targets, and minimize revenue loss.
  • Adapt to high-stress environments, handling urgent Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations and sudden schedule changes.
  • Make high-stakes decisions involving thousands of dollars in operational costs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
