Optimization Engineer
About The Position
This is an opportunity to join a global technology company, driving energy innovation for a balanced planet. The role involves supporting the sales team and client end users to optimize production for both downhole and surface operations by preparing artificial lift recommendations. The position also includes participating in project activities, serving as a liaison between support and operations teams, utilizing LOOKOUT for well performance monitoring, ensuring data accuracy, addressing downtime reduction, monitoring daily production inputs, and generating effective, safe, and ethical solutions. Work is performed in shifts and may require working on weekends or holidays.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical) or equivalent field experience.
- Field operations exposure with Electric Submersible Pumps and/or Multiphase Flow meters
- High computer application literacy (including Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn internal software systems)
Nice To Haves
- Remote operations exposure
- Programming skills (python, sql, java)
- Prior experience that required excellent communication and organizational skills
- Prior experience that demonstrates strong ethics, effective time management, ability to multitask, adaptability, autonomy and self-motivation
- Working knowledge of other Artificial Lift methods, Completions and Production Fundamentals
Responsibilities
- Support the sales team and client end users for the purpose of optimizing production for both downhole and surface operations by preparing artificial lift recommendations.
- Participate in project activities.
- Serve as liaison between support team and operations to effectively communicate operational questions & concerns to the Sales Engineers and Application Support Team.
- Utilize LOOKOUT for monitoring well performance data.
- Ensure accuracy and address downtime reduction opportunities.
- Monitor daily production inputs into electronic data capturing software and compare input data with output data for correctness.
- Generates effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical.
