About The Position

I I Stanley Company, Inc., a leading supplier of automotive lighting products, was established in Battle Creek, Michigan in 1985. Founded on the principles of respect, trust, and value, we serve a wide range of customers – domestic and foreign – by supplying them with high-quality automotive headlamps, tail lamps, fog lamps. This role will execute the optical design and development of exterior lighting products from initial concept to production by utilizing CAD and CAE resources. The engineer will communicate with internal project teams, external customers, and suppliers regarding optical design projects, and recommend and implement design changes to products per simulation and testing results. Ensuring compliance to regulation requirements through robust product design is key. The role provides optical design related guidance and technical advice to project leaders and designers for new product development and production projects. The engineer will also design and evaluate photometric testing, data acquisitions, data analysis, and other evaluations for projects. Investigating new concepts and integrating new light sources, new technologies, or new techniques into product design is also part of the responsibilities. Support planning and execution, delivery of technical information to customers, other company departments, and within the design team is expected. The role supports Design Engineers and Program Leaders and ensures compliance to quality management systems. Identifying and negotiating solutions to technical problems with the customer and other company departments is also a responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor – Electrical Engineering, Optics and Photonics Engineering or a related field of study; will accept equivalent foreign degree
  • One (1) year in the position above or a related engineering role.
  • Experience must include: Designing and developing exterior lighting products from initial concept to production by utilizing CAD and CAE resources
  • Experience must include: Recommending and implementing design changes to products per simulation and testing results
  • Experience must include: Designing and evaluating photometric testing, data acquisitions, data analysis, and other evaluations for projects.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the optical design and development of exterior lighting products from initial concept to production by utilizing CAD and CAE resources
