About The Position

Dynamic Integrated Services (DIS) is seeking experienced Opticians to support Veteran patient care services within the VA healthcare system. This role will support optical fitting, measurements, eyewear adjustments, repairs, and patient service operations within a federal healthcare environment. The position is a federal contractor role supporting the VA healthcare system.

Requirements

Previous Optician experience required
ABO Certification required
State licensure required where applicable
Strong understanding of eyewear fitting, adjustments, measurements, and repairs
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Strong communication and customer service skills
Must read, understand, speak, and write English fluently
High attention to detail and organizational skills
Must pass federal background screening, fingerprinting, and onboarding requirements before starting employment

Nice To Haves

Healthcare, medical office, hospital, or VA experience preferred

Responsibilities

Measure, fit, adjust, and repair eyewear for Veteran patients
Assist patients with frame selection, fittings, and optical measurements including pupillary distance (PD)
Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with VA procedures
Provide excellent customer service and patient support in a clinical healthcare setting
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, patient confidentiality, and federal healthcare regulations
Work collaboratively with Eye Clinic staff, Prosthetics staff, and healthcare providers
Maintain organized and sanitary optical work areas
Follow all VA safety, infection prevention, and security procedures
Report equipment issues, patient concerns, or operational issues promptly
Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and attendance standards
