2nd Shift Optical Test Technician

About The Position

The Optical Test Technician works in a manufacturing or laboratory environment testing optical fibers according to standard operating procedures. The role documents manufacturing processes, performs basic equipment maintenance and calibration, and assists with technical problem-solving, test equipment selection and setup, and engineering tasks. Cross-training in other areas may be required. The position is based in Granby, Connecticut, and is on second shift.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment.
Previous experience or practice performing delicate tasks with small, fragile parts.
Computer literacy, including data entry in Excel.
Ability to see details at close range.
Excellent hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

Test optical fibers according to standard operating procedures.
Document manufacturing processes as required.
Perform basic equipment maintenance and calibration.
Assist in recommending solutions to technical problems.
May assist with selecting and setting up specialized test equipment.
Assist engineers as needed.
Cross-train in other areas as needed.
Follow site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. corporate EHS standards.
Depending on location, execute and maintain applicable quality and environmental management standards, such as ISO 9000, ISO 9001, or ISO 14001.
