The Manufacturing Process Writer captures, documents, and translates complex manufacturing procedures and expert knowledge into clear, concise work instructions and standard operating procedures for production operators. The role helps preserve institutional knowledge, standardize processes, and give operators the information and resources needed to perform tasks accurately, efficiently, and safely. The writer works with subject matter experts—including engineers, senior technicians, and experienced operators—to capture process steps and practical know-how. The position develops and revises manufacturing documentation, conducts interviews and job-shadowing sessions, transfers knowledge into accessible written and visual materials, and validates documents with operators and production staff. It also involves document control, compliance with quality and regulatory standards, and ensuring instructions identify necessary materials, safety equipment, and quality checkpoints. Advancement through the Process Writer ranks is based on increasing education, experience, industrial, math, and computing skills, responsibility, and leadership effectiveness. The work takes place in a manufacturing environment and may involve different production areas, variable noise, oils and solvents, moving mechanical parts, and fumes. The employee generally works in and helps maintain a clean environment; area-specific safety training may be required. The role requires frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and communication, as well as periods of sitting or standing and visual and manual dexterity capabilities. Optimax offers competitive compensation based on experience and a benefits package. Employment is subject to export-control compliance requirements; applicants must be a U.S. Person under applicable regulations or eligible to obtain required authorizations.
