About The Position

Our Optical Communications segment provides industry-leading optical solutions across the communications industry, serving both carrier and enterprise networks. This role is crucial for improving product quality, equipment reliability, testing capability, and cost performance within our North American cable plants.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optics, Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, systems development, or a related technical field.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of optics, statistics, process optimization, and measurement systems.
  • Experience analyzing manufacturing data and supporting fiber or cable products.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in a relevant technical field.
  • 7+ years in optical cable manufacturing or related engineering.
  • Experience with optical testing, measurement systems, and fiber handling.
  • Cross-functional project leadership and process optimization experience.
  • Experience with data analytics, automation, and new product introductions.
  • Six Sigma or MSA experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Improve optical testing systems, processes, capacity, and reliability.
  • Support new product introductions and resolve complex testing issues.
  • Standardize testing, maintenance, and operating procedures across plants.
  • Analyze manufacturing and measurement data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead projects involving process optimization, cost reduction, equipment deployment, and digital manufacturing.
  • Partner with engineering, quality, technology teams, and equipment suppliers.
  • Develop technical documentation, dashboards, and training for operations teams.
  • Support plant safety and a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
