About The Position

Warby Parker is seeking an Optical Supervisor to join their in-house optical professionals team. This role involves creating exceptional customer experiences through optical expertise, a friendly demeanor, and product knowledge. The supervisor will also act as a keyholder, managing store opening and closing, and overseeing internal operations. A primary responsibility is to foster a positive and productive work environment for opticians and retail advisors. The ideal candidate is an energetic self-starter and a lifelong learner committed to Warby Parker's growth.

Requirements

Licensed dispensing optician in states that require a license or an ABO-certified optician in non-licensing states.
2+ years of experience, including supervisor responsibilities.
Passionate about the eyewear and retail industries.
Clear, effective, and professional communicator, able to explain technical terms to customers.
Dedicated to going above-and-beyond to make customers and teammates happy.
Energetic, positive team player adaptable to a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment.
Extremely detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and capable of juggling multiple responsibilities.
Open-minded and continuously learning.
Takes work seriously but not oneself.
Not on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

Responsibilities

Work directly with customers to meet all of their eyewear needs.
Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear with accuracy.
Ensure finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements.
Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers.
Ensure operational, service, and staff zoning procedures are executed to Warby Parker standards.
Drive store vision and sales by providing excellent service and addressing customer and operational questions.
Lead and mentor the Optical team, including participants of the Optician Apprentice Program, by exemplifying great service.
Assist in maintaining general store systems, inventory databases, and business operations.
Foster and support a productive, positive employee culture in the store.
