About The Position

Warby Parker is seeking an Optical Supervisor to join their in-house optical professionals team. This role involves creating exceptional customer experiences through optical expertise, a friendly demeanor, and product knowledge. The supervisor will also act as a keyholder, responsible for opening and closing the store and maintaining internal operations. Additionally, they will lead the team, fostering an upbeat and productive work environment for opticians and retail advisors. The ideal candidate is an energetic self-starter and a lifelong learner eager to contribute to Warby Parker's growth.

Requirements

  • Licensed dispensing optician in states that require a license or an ABO-certified optician in non-licensing states.
  • 2+ years of experience, including supervisor responsibilities.
  • Passionate about the eyewear and retail industries.
  • Clear, effective, and professional communication skills, able to explain technical terms to customers.
  • Dedicated to exceeding customer and teammate expectations.
  • Energetic, positive team player adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
  • Extremely detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and capable of juggling multiple responsibilities.
  • Open-minded and committed to continuous learning.
  • Takes work seriously but maintains a good attitude.
  • Not on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with customers to meet their eyewear needs.
  • Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear with accuracy.
  • Ensure finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements.
  • Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers.
  • Ensure operational, service, and staff zoning procedures are executed to Warby Parker standards.
  • Drive store vision and sales by providing excellent service and addressing customer and operational questions.
  • Lead and mentor the Optical team, including participants of the Optician Apprentice Program, by exemplifying great service.
  • Assist in maintaining general store systems, inventory databases, and business operations.
  • Foster and support a productive, positive employee culture within the store.
