About The Position
Warby Parker is seeking an Optical Supervisor to join their team of in-house optical professionals. This role involves creating exceptional customer experiences through optical expertise, a friendly demeanor, and product knowledge. The supervisor will act as a keyholder, assisting with store opening and closing, and maintaining internal operations. They will also lead the team, fostering a positive and productive work environment for opticians and retail advisors. The ideal candidate is an energetic self-starter and lifelong learner eager to contribute to Warby Parker's growth.
Requirements
- Licensed dispensing optician in states that require a license or an ABO-certified optician in non-licensing states.
- 2+ years of experience, including supervisor responsibilities.
- Passionate about the eyewear and retail industries.
- Clear, effective, and professional communicator, able to explain technical terms to customers.
- Dedicated to going above and beyond to make customers and teammates happy.
- Energetic, positive team player adaptable to a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment.
- Extremely detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and capable of juggling multiple responsibilities.
- Open-minded and continuously learning.
- Takes work seriously but not oneself.
- Not on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
Responsibilities
- Work directly with customers to meet all of their eyewear needs.
- Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear with flawless accuracy.
- Verify that finished eyewear meets optical standards, customer requirements, and requests.
- Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers.
- Ensure all operational, service, and staff zoning procedures are executed to Warby Parker standards.
- Drive store vision and sales by providing excellent customer service and addressing customer and operational questions.
- Lead and mentor the Optical team, including participants of the Optician Apprentice Program, by exemplifying great service.
- Assist in maintaining general store systems, inventory databases, and business operations.
- Foster and support a productive, positive employee culture within the store.
