This is a full-time, onsite role based at our headquarters in Denver, CO. As an Optical Operations Technician, you will apply your skills in optical assembly and alignment to deliver fusion energy.  We are looking for our technicians to apply their technical expertise, problem solving skills, and dedication to quality to positively impact the future of energy!

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate has an associates or bachelors degree with 1-3 years of high average power or high intensity laser work or 3-5 years of laser alignment and experience.
  • Experience with opto-mechanical assembly and laser alignment.
  • Must be cable of handling fragile optics and moving precisely.
  • Experience working in a cleanroom and adhering to strict safety standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to analyze plan and coordinate work activities.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee of granted asylum.

Responsibilities

  • Working with multi-functional teams on projects which may or may not be related to a Laser Technician’s normal scope of experience.
  • Assemble vacuum assemblies, operate pumps and pressure vessels
  • Ensure that documented Work Instructions & SOPs are followed and meet all quality requirements.
  • Adhere to cleanroom protocols and safety standards.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of lean manufacturing and 5S activities.
  • Participate in Stand-up meetings and communicate any issues or blockers.
  • Participates in laser safety audits and related activities.
  • Embrace growth in their understanding of the daily operations and scientific foundations of the lasers systems and optical processes at Xcimer.
