About The Position
We are seeking an Optical Metrology Technician with experience in optical or precision component manufacturing to support test, inspection, and record generation in a high-mix manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented but also adaptable and curious, with an interest in expanding their skills beyond inspection into broader quality and process support.
Requirements
- 5+ years in optical component test and metrology within optical manufacturing
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and specifications
- Experience with mechanical and optical measurement tools
- Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline
- Experience in high-mix manufacturing
- Direct experience with optical inspection or metrology techniques
- Able to work independently and adapt to changing or evolving priorities
Responsibilities
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final test and inspection of optical components and assemblies
- Review and maintain quality documentation (inspection records, travelers, certificates)
- Support nonconformance reporting and basic root cause investigations
- Work closely with peers to quickly resolve manufacturing deviations
- Assist with calibration, measurement system upkeep, and inspection equipment
- Contribute ideas to improve methods and quality workflows
