About The Position

Warby Parker is seeking a skilled Optical Manager to join their in-house Optical team. This role involves creating exceptional customer experiences through professional expertise and product knowledge. The manager will lead a team of Opticians, provide customer consultations, and foster a positive and growth-oriented work environment.

Requirements

A licensed dispensing optician in states that require a license (or an ABO-certified optician in non-licensing states).
2+ years of experience in a management position.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
Ability to drive optical metrics and adhere to strict optical standards.
High sense of professionalism and open-mindedness in decision-making.
Passion for the eyewear and retail industries.
Clear and effective communication skills, able to explain technical terms simply.
Dedication to exceeding customer and teammate expectations.
Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Not on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

Responsibilities

Work directly with customers to meet their eyewear needs.
Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear with accuracy.
Ensure finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements.
Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers.
Manage a team of Opticians through feedback, development conversations, and leading by example.
Uphold exceptional service standards and implement retail experience programs.
Report to the Store Leader to anticipate staffing needs and oversee Optician Apprentice Program participants.
Stay updated on HR policies and procedures to promote a productive and safe culture.
Leverage company resources to increase employee engagement and job satisfaction.
Support general store systems, inventory databases, and business operations.
