About The Position

This position is responsible for processing work orders, ensuring the quality and accuracy of inventory, and manufacturing corrective eyewear. The role involves working in different departments such as Inventory, Finish, and Surface, utilizing various equipment and software to prepare lenses, mount them into frames, and perform cosmetic additions. The associate will also maintain quality standards, communicate with other associates and vendors, and uphold Walmart's values of respecting individuals, acting with integrity, serving customers, and striving for excellence.

Responsibilities

• Process work orders to workload and prioritize orders.
• Maintain quality, accuracy, and integrity of inventory by scanning product in and out of departments using system software.
• Sort, place, and store freight or work orders in proper locations.
• Move freight manually.
• Produce and manufacture corrective eyewear by preparing lenses for production (e.g., tracing, blocking, first inspection).
• Produce lenses for placement in frames using edging equipment.
• Manually mount lenses in frames and assemble eyewear.
• Complete cosmetic additions (e.g., polish, tint).
• Prepare lenses for production (e.g., layout, taping, blocking).
• Create curvature and thickness of lenses according to prescription using lens grinding equipment.
• Apply hard coating to lenses.
• Prepare lenses for add-ons (e.g., tint, no glare).
• Maintain quality standards by reviewing and analyzing work tickets or other information for accuracy.
• Adhere to standard operating procedures.
• Evaluate produced work for quality.
• Communicate with other WalMart associates and vendors verbally or in writing.
