Alcon is looking to hire a Optical Engineering Software Engineer, that is part of Alcon's Information Technology function, a team that delivers cutting-edge technology solutions to Alcon associates and customers to help our people and the world see brilliantly. The Sr. Associate II, Software Engineering (Science/Tech/Engineering Path) is primarily responsible for tackling complex software development tasks, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to large-scale projects. This role in on-site in Fort Worth, Texas and A typical day will include: Lead the development of complex software systems, from design to implementation Participate in and contribute to software architecture decisions, influencing the technical direction of projects. Provide mentorship and support to junior engineers within the team. Ensure software solutions are scalable, reliable, and maintainable, continuously improving development processes. Make decisions on technical aspects of software design and development, providing input on strategic decisions related to system architecture and team processes. All associates must adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training. Associates are responsible for meeting their individual job requirements and contributing to the overall compliance of the organization. Compliance with regulatory requirements and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential to our operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 2 Years of Relevant Experience

Nice To Haves

  • BS in Software Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • Experience developing web applications using Web Forms and ASP.NET MVC.
  • Experience developing with C#, WPF, and the .NET Framework.
  • Experience developing with C.
  • Experience developing image processing and signal processing algorithms.
  • Experience developing SQL applications, including using Entity Framework.
  • Experience developing motion control algorithms.
