About The Position

Wipro Limited is a technology services and consulting company focused on developing solutions for clients’ digital transformation needs. The Optical Design Engineer will apply optical design and simulation expertise in consumer electronics, work across engineering teams, and lead technical projects to deliver objectives and timelines. The role calls for experience with optical simulation software, and preferred experience includes augmented reality hardware, Python-based simulation automation, and familiarity with cameras, sensors, and display technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a specialized field such as Optics, Sensors, or Audio/DSP, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in optical design and simulation for consumer electronics.
• Experience with optical simulation software such as Zemax, Lighttools, or CodeV.
• Experience leading technical projects and collaborating with executive cross-functional engineering teams to deliver objectives and timelines.
• Mandatory skill: VLSI Board Design.
• The posting lists 5–8 years of experience.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s or PhD degree in Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant technical field.
• Specialized experience in augmented reality (AR) design and bringing AR hardware to market.
• Proficiency in Python for automating optical simulations, data post-processing, and generating design reports.
• Familiarity with camera systems, sensors, and display technologies.
• Track record of navigating ambiguity-driven design challenges in a fast-paced product development environment.
