Requirements

1 year of optical experience
1 year of experience working in a retail store
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Strong customer service skills
Must have the ability to prioritize
Ability to work as a team member
Must have a strong sense of fashion and trends
Knowledge of the proper use of lensometer, auto refractor and NCT equipment
Position is active and includes moving about throughout department during the shift

Responsibilities

Verify prescription orders for accuracy by comparing system entries to the prescribing doctor's original prescription and maintain organized order files using established store procedures.
Deliver exceptional customer service in person and by phone by assisting customers, explaining products and services, and creating a welcoming, professional experience.
Accurately interpret prescriptions, perform optical measurements, verify prescriptions using a lensometer, recommend appropriate frame and lens options, and ensure proper frame selection based on prescription requirements.
Manage the order fulfillment process by updating order status, notifying customers when orders are ready, dispensing complete eyewear, and accurately processing all sales and payment transactions.
Perform eyewear fittings, adjustments, repairs, and troubleshooting to ensure proper fit, comfort, and visual performance.
Operate and maintain optical equipment, including the lensometer, autorefractor, and non-contact tonometer (NCT), in accordance with company procedures.
Maintain compliance with all company policies, HIPAA requirements, and confidentiality standards.
Support daily store operations by assisting the Optical Manager with opening and closing procedures, cash reconciliation, and maintaining accurate point-of-sale transactions.
Foster positive working relationships with Boscov's store leadership and associates to promote a collaborative customer-focused environment.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional optical department that supports an exceptional customer experience.
