About The Position

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented OPSEC Planner - Journeyman to join our team! In this role you will get to support the integration of Operations Security (OPSEC) within Operations in the Information Environment (OIE) to help protect friendly intentions, capabilities, and vulnerabilities while enabling effective information‑related activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree and 5+ years experience. Years of comparable experience can be used in lieu of degree. (HS diploma 8+ years, Associates 6+ years, Masters 3+ years)
  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI clearance or higher.
  • Security Clearance Requirement: An active Top Secret SCI security clearance is required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Applies established OPSEC methodologies to ensure that risk, exposure, and protective measures are considered throughout planning, execution, and assessment in support of J39 priorities across competition, crisis, and conflict.
  • Identifies and helps manage critical information (CI) by analyzing how friendly actions, messaging, and behaviors across the physical, informational, and human domains could create risk or reveal operational insights to adversaries.
  • Conducts OPSEC assessments to evaluate vulnerabilities associated with planned or ongoing activities and contributes risk‑informed recommendations that support commander and planner decision‑making.
  • Coordinates with OIE planners, MISO/PSYOP teams, MILDEC planners, EMSO elements, cyber operators, and other Information Forces to ensure OPSEC considerations are aligned with influence, deception, and multi‑domain operational effects.
  • Works to maintain balance between protective measures and the operational need for messaging, visibility, and action in the information environment.
  • Analyzes adversary intelligence collection capabilities, technical sensors, and information exploitation methods to understand how opponents could detect, interpret, or target friendly posture and activities. Uses this understanding to recommend countermeasures, shaping OPSEC inputs to planning documents, execution synchronizations, and assessment updates.
  • Supports the incorporation of OPSEC into wargames, rehearsals, exercises, and contingency planning by identifying likely exposure points, validating assumptions, and contributing to risk assessments.
  • Assists in developing OPSEC training, briefings, and awareness activities that reinforce operational discipline and risk‑informed decision‑making across staff sections and mission partners.
