About The Position

As our Shift Supervisor, at ENGIE’s Medical Area Total Energy Plant (MATEP) located in Boston, MA you will be responsible for directing and supervising Operations Department and other plant personnel to ensure the facility is operated and maintained in a clean, safe, and efficient manner in accordance with all Company policies and environmental standards. The Shift Supervisor reports to the Operations Manager. You will: Work internally in the physical plant and externally on the facility’s grounds or at satellite facilities You may be required to work overtime - relief, off-shift, and emergency coverage (nights, weekends,) and/or other, as needed, this is a rotating shift. Have experience directing shift operators on the starting, control, operation, shutdown and inspection of high pressure boilers, combustion turbine generators, steam turbine generators, chillers, electrical distribution equipment, steam distribution equipment and all required plant auxiliary equipment. Perform regular inspection tours of the plant and distribution system including underground tunnels and electrical power systems; and prepares logs and other operating records including data collection via the plant computer Train shift personnel in safety procedures and equipment use, plant operating procedures and environmental standards Support the implementation of corporate and plant training programs and monitoring the progress of your reports towards completion of the program training Observe and comply with all standard safety codes and practices, and perform work in accordance with recognized trade and company standards and, where applicable, local, state, and federal laws including participation in emergency response team

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in central utility or industrial plant operations, including shift supervision and operation of boilers, turbines, chillers, electrical/steam distribution systems, and related plant equipment.
  • Valid Commonwealth of Massachusetts Second Class Engineer’s License.

Nice To Haves

  • Maintain or desire to obtain a Valid CFC-2 and CFC-3 license; or, a CFC-universal license.
  • May be required to obtain a Second-Class Industrial Wastewater Treatment license.
