About The Position

This is a full-time Other Personal Services (OPS) position with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service. The role involves operating various types of heavy equipment and vehicles, performing maintenance on equipment and facilities, and assisting other employees as needed. Occasional to moderate travel is required, and the position may respond to emergencies.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Requires a valid Class E driver license.

• Work history, duties and responsibilities, hours worked, supervisor, and formal education fields, etc. must be filled out to determine qualifications for this position.

Responsibilities

• Heavy equipment operation including but not limited to BOBCAT Tracked Dozer, John Deere 550 Dozer, SWECO, etc.
• Operation of small and large farm tractors with grader and other attachments, etc.
• Operation of state vehicles, trucks, OHV’s, ATV’s, MERV, etc.
• Must complete ATV Rider Safety Course within 6 months of appointment
• Must maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.
• Operation of chainsaws with proper training/certification within 6 months of appointment
• Maintenance of all assigned equipment
• Maintenance of shop and tools to maintain assigned equipment
• Assists other employees as needed with restroom cleaning/maintenance/stocking, gatehouse assistance, etc.
• Other duties as assigned
