About The Position

This is a professional position responsible for performing compliance activities of Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers to ensure compliance with regulations.

Requirements

  • Proficient computer skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; knowledge of computer data bases; knowledge and use of the compliance management system and licensing system used by the Agency; knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures and government rules & regulations.
  • Skill in reading and writing; investigating and researching; knowing how to find information and identifying essential information; finding ways to structure or classify multiple pieces of information; using logic and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches; inspecting and evaluating the quality of products; organizational skills.
  • Ability to understand sentences and paragraphs in work related documents; effectively manage time; communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; make sound judgments; interpret, understand and apply applicable rules, regulations and policies and procedures; ability to maintain strict confidentiality; ability to travel; ability to pass a thorough background investigation.
  • One (1) year of professional experience in conducting investigations, regulatory or compliance inspections.
  • Must have a valid Florida State driver's license, satisfactorily complete a background investigation, fingerprinting, and participation in direct deposit are requirements for employment.
  • All Florida Department of Health positions require the incumbent to be able to learn and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, in English. Applicants who do not meet this requirement will not be considered.

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in environmental, biological, chemical, or one of the natural sciences;

Responsibilities

  • Review all external complaints received for sufficiency and jurisdiction.
  • Respond to inquiries from Medical Marijuana Treatment Center compliance issues.
  • Investigate complaints and potential issues of Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers.
  • Prepare written reports to document investigation findings.
  • Initiate notices of noncompliance and work with management to communicate and resolve findings.
  • Provides technical assistance, consultative services and direction for development, implementation and evaluation of data and reports.
  • Researches, prepares and disseminates reports of a topical or statistical nature as required by manager or agency officials.
  • Other duties as assigned.
