About The Position

This position is responsible for setting up appointments to interview and counsel applicants to determine economic indigence for eligibility for available services. The role involves registering and maintaining client records in computer data files and electronic health records. Key duties include collecting, registering, verifying, and inputting all pertinent client information into various system modules such as Client Registration, reviewing Family Financials, verifying insurance information, and accurately recording CSRs. Additionally, the position requires answering the telephone, scheduling and rescheduling client appointments, following up on missed appointments via phone or text, and making reminder calls. The counselor will also secure translation assistance for patients needing services.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience or call center experience.
  • Bilingual-English/Spanish.
  • Always promote customer service excellence through "patient first" approach at all times.
  • Assures that customers are treated with respect and courtesy and dissatisfied customers are afforded the opportunity to discuss their concerns.
  • Working knowledge operating computers, photocopy machine, calculators, cash register, printers, scanners, and all related equipment required by position.
  • All Florida Department of Health positions require the incumbent to be able to learn and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, in English.
  • Male applicants born on or after October 1, 1962, will not be eligible for hire or promotion unless they are registered with the Selective Services System (SSS) before their 26th birthday, or have a Letter of Registration Exemption from the SSS.
  • The successful candidate will be required to complete the Form I-9 and that information will be verified using the E-Verify system.

Nice To Haves

  • One or more years of experience using i.e.... HMS, Dentrix, Careware, FMMIS and Solution Reach.
  • Experience dealing with HMO or third-party insurance for Medicare and Medicaid and working on Department of Health's Electronic Health Record Systems.
  • Experience scheduling appointments in the medical or dental field.

Responsibilities

  • Answers the telephone, schedules client appointments, reschedules and/or follows up missed appointments by phone or text, and makes reminder phone calls if necessary.
  • Secures translation assistance for patients needing our services.
  • Incumbents may be required to perform emergency duty before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days.
