This is a full-time, in-office position where the employee will promote a "patient first" approach by providing excellent customer service. Emphasis is placed on answering all incoming calls promptly and courteously. Effective listening skills and knowledge of how to handle customer complaints and address concerns are of the utmost importance. The role requires understanding the process for securing translation assistance for clients or providing translation if bilingual. Primary duties include answering the telephone, scheduling and rescheduling clients’ appointments while verifying payer source, and explaining the no-show policy. The employee will monitor the schedule to minimize patient wait times and attempt to fill available appointments. Experience with Medicaid HMO or third-party insurance billing is a plus. The employee will register and maintain client records in the HMS system and Electronic Records in the dental software with accuracy and within compliance. This includes researching client demographic information, updating their information for each visit, interviewing and verifying eligibility requirements for client services, and educating clients on how fee schedules are computed. The role also involves verifying authorizations for Medicaid reimbursement, determining financial eligibility, collecting payments, and documenting all client third-party insurance into the financial data file to maximize revenue collections. All data will be reviewed for accuracy and completeness. The employee will also organize and maintain records, filing systems, and inventories.
