This position involves providing technical assistance to computer system users within the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). The incumbent will work with Law Enforcement and other FWC employees to resolve computer issues for clients through in-person, telephone, or remote support. Responsibilities include the installation and repair of hardware, software, and peripherals such as bodycams, Smartcop software, and aircards, adhering to specifications. The role requires maintaining an inventory of computer equipment and software, assisting clients with surplus equipment procedures, and processing/tracking workload using the agency's incident management system. Additionally, the position involves testing and monitoring systems to evaluate effectiveness, preparing evaluations and recommendations for management, and potentially leading major project planning, testing, and implementation under supervision. The incumbent will also diagnose problems by reading technical manuals and conferring with users, and may develop training materials and conduct training programs. Administrative and purchasing reports will be prepared as required, and daily activities will be reported to supervisors. Continuous learning of hardware and software is expected through trade magazines, technical manuals, and training seminars. Other duties as assigned.
