About The Position

This position is part of a team focused on operating and monitoring multiple central and backup site servers, various job schedulers, peripheral equipment, and other computer environments.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of PC experience in a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • A good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Knowledge of computing systems operations terminology.
  • Knowledge of basic IT terminology and procedures.
  • Knowledge of IT operations, equipment, procedures, and workflow.
  • Skills in the operation of a variety of data processing equipment.
  • Skills in the operation of computer peripheral equipment.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Skill in operating a variety of data processing equipment.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Ability to determine priorities.
  • Ability to interpret and respond to computer error messages.
  • Ability to detect equipment malfunctions and contact proper support staff.

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent and two (2) years of experience in the operation of a personal computer and computer peripheral equipment, or
  • A high school diploma or its equivalent, and one (1) year of experience in the operation of a personal computer and computer peripheral equipment, and the completion of a program of study from a vocational/technical school or data vendor in an area of data processing (excluding data entry).
  • College coursework may be substituted for one year of the required work experience provided the course work included at least four (4) courses in an area of data processing other than data entry.

Responsibilities

  • Check production jobs frequently and make necessary corrections to complete assigned work on schedule.
  • Operate computer systems components and its peripheral equipment.
  • Monitor environment and power supplies for proper operating conditions.
  • Document problems and actions by completing Operator logs.
  • Train team members as needed.
