Requirements

  • Three (3) years of experience in accounting or financial management, with one (1) year of experience in account reconciliation, processing revenues/disbursements, or financial reporting, or A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university may be used in lieu of one (1) year of the required experience in account reconciliation, processing revenues/disbursements, or financial reporting.
  • Satisfactory criminal history check (fingerprint-based) in accordance with Chapter 435, Florida Statutes.
  • Office hours are from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Complete training and attain proficiency in the Florida PALM accounting system.
  • Oversee the monthly reconciliation process for Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA) project activity across multiple trust funds, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with fund-specific requirements.
  • Analyze project revenues, expenditures, and financial movements across all related trust funds.
  • Monitor and reconcile expenditure transfers and adjustments, verifying proper authorization and compliance with established accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Maintain detailed and organized reconciliation records to support audits, internal reviews, and external reporting requirements.
  • Develop and implement reconciliation procedures to strengthen internal controls.
  • Coordinate with NRDA staff to resolve discrepancies and ensure consistent financial reporting across projects.
  • Support the development of policies, templates, and tools for consistent tracking of revenues, expenditures, and expenditure moves.
